Ringcraft - the road to show success

Ringcraft is the training of both handler and dog to be ready for the show ring. To the uninitiated it may look easy, but a lot of time and effort goes into presenting a dog for exhibition.   Whether you are a complete beginner to showing, or an experienced handler, our ring craft classes will be able to show you all the techniques to get the best from you and your dog.  It is important that you learn how to present your dog in the show ring to show off all its finer points.

A dog has got to want to show off for its owner or handler in the show ring and you must work hard together to build this rapport. At NDCS we have a great deal of experience in the 'show scene' and will be able to show you all the techniques to get the best out of your dog.  We aim to make training a fun experience in a friendly and sociable environment.

We will set you on the right direction whether you are competing in championship shows, open shows, matches or companion shows. You will receive friendly advice, tips and help on:

Socialisation of a puppy

How to present your dog

Movement exercises for both dog and handler

Being handled by experienced instructors

Shows, how to to enter or any query regarding filling in documentation, forms etc

Meeting members from other breeds

We hold regular match nights so you can put your training to the test in an informal and supportive environment.  These are sociable occasions with buffet and drinks, and a fund-raising raffle to support our chosen canine charity.

Our trainers have many years of experience in showing and winning with their dogs and are waiting to share this with you.  Contact details can be found in the column on the right.

We meet at Kirtling Village Hall every Wednesday evening

07:30pm - 09:00pm
